By using the existing footprint of this Federation Cottage, we transformed a modest structure into a contemporary yet classic abode, balancing a historically-sympathetic design with the everyday living requirements of a young family. 

We introduced fluid movement between the internal living area and the garden, and positioned a feature courtyard for entertaining. At the heart of the house we placed the kitchen, which became the epicentre for the family’s interaction. Overall, our design facilitated an aesthetically-pleasing view of the house not just from the street but also from the landscaped garden.
